Jennifer is home from the hospital. Minus the crazy man who kept coming in her room thinking she was his wife ("that's my damn wife!"), it was a pretty uneventful stay. Yesterday they were supposed to check out at noon, but didn't get out of there until 5pm. Gotta love paperwork!
She talked to Dr. Crane (her oncologist) and he said everything looks good and the surgery went well. The pain in her head is completely gone, but she is feeling sore from the surgery. So she's home with her feet up, relaxing, while her mom and dad respond to her every need.
A big shout out of thanks to everyone for the flowers and chocolate! She has been eating soft foods for now because her throat is sore from the surgery, but is looking forward to digging in to the sweets.
She will start chemo on Monday, which is a twice daily pill, for two weeks and then a week off. Xeloda is the name of the pill. There is only a 1% chance of losing her hair. Radiation will start in a couple of weeks. All of this is ammunition to kill as much of the cancer as possible and then keep it at bay. Load'em up and move'em out!!
From Jennifer: Thanks again to everyone for all of your support and love!!! (especially your comment Big Bob Thomas)
