First Chemo Round is done - once a week for 3 weeks. This first round of chemo (Abraxane) had low dosage due to the radiation we added for my back. Radiation has worked tremendously for the pain and I will be finished with the 15 treatments on Tuesday. I have next week off of chemo and then we will begin again on Thursday 22nd with the higher dosage. So far, side effects have been minimal - fatigue is the main culprit. But my blood work has been excellent and my weight has increased. So all seems good now. We are also waiting on the lovely hair to make its disappearance. Still here as of this morning. No one knows when it will go with this drug, but we are prepared.
Don't know when next scans or tests will be done. We leave that up to Dr. Crane. I have only just begun on this second chemo treatment so it maybe a couple weeks or months.
Still feeling good to enjoy what life has to offer - friends, small trips, dining out, pool, shopping, etc. Trying to keep active while I feel good. I just rest before I want to do something fun. Our annual family beach trip is the first week in August. I hope to feel good that week to enjoy the coast.
Also I realized that people with cancer still have to deal with life's normal problems. Two weeks ago, car died. Then I came home from the 4th to my bathroom exploding. Tring to look at it positivly and at least now I get to have both baths remodeled and whatever else insurance wants to fix.
Small entry but just wanted to give you an update on the Phelps's family. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
Love, Jennifer
