Wanted to let you know the latest test results from last week. Have had some lower back discomfort. Doc did the MRI on the whole spine instead of just the area in pain. Came out good. No new spots. The one spot that has been on my lumbar region has moved a little bit so it has started hitting a nerve. Ugh - freaking painful. We decided to start radiation to that area tomorrow for 15 visits. But this is totally for pain management only. Doc thinks pain will be under controlled this week - yeah! We didn't think I would be able to do chemo with the radiation but we decided to go ahead and start one of the treatments on Thursday. I was doing two. But we are going with the proven chemo, Abraxane, on a weekly basis, and radiation. Not sure about the side effects of this chemo. I know that it should not be that bad but we are taking it day by day. The radiation side effects will definitely be nothing compared to what I had in May/June. Just zapping out some pain!
Had a great visit from some old friends from across the way - Leigh Anne from Cali, Cecile from Lafayette, and Angel from Winston. They totally got my spirits ready for the week ahead. Mom will be here this week, of course, to help me through the days. Will stop work this week too for awhile to get healthy. Hoping to not have many problems so I can go back and forth to visit friends, family, New Bern, and the beach. But will be laying around Raleigh more do to the radiation.
