I made it through the first week of chemo with flying colors! The anticipation is always the worst, but I haven't felt any side effects except being a little sleepy. I have one more week of the chemo pills and then get a week off before starting the cycle over again.
I'm traveling to Raleigh on Tuesday to meet with the surgeon about my stupid neck brace. He has already told me that I will probably wear it for two more weeks. So I'll stay in New Bern until I get the brace off because I can't drive with it on.
On March 25th I will start Zometa, an intravenous drip that will strengthen my bones. I will meet with the oncologist during this appointment as well to find out about future chemotherapy. I'm scheduled to start radiation on 3/30 and plan to be back in Raleigh by then.
Thank you to everyone for making my visit home so nice. I've seen old friends from high school that have really boosted my spirits. Made me feel 18 again! I have eaten more candy and received more flowers than I ever thought possible. I feel very much loved. Thank you.
Thinking of you Jenn! I can't wait to spend time at the beach together this summer...new neighbor.
